Early Life:

Rajnath Singh was born in the small village of Bhabhaura in the Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, India. His parents, Ram Badan Singh and Gujarati Devi played a crucial role in shaping his early life. Coming from a humble background, Singh grew up in a family emphasizing traditional values and hard work. His father, Ram Badan Singh, was a farmer, and the family faced the typical challenges associated with rural life. Despite the financial constraints, Singh’s parents placed a strong emphasis on education, instilling in him the importance of knowledge and self-improvement.

After Political success, Rajnath Singh entered into matrimony with Savitri Singh on the 5th of June 1971. This union blessed them with two sons and a daughter. One of his sons, Pankaj Singh, is actively involved in politics and serves as a Member of the Legislative Assembly representing Noida, Uttar Pradesh, under the banner of the BJP. Known for his devout Hindu beliefs, he is recognized as a religious individual with a reputation for gentle and soft-spoken demeanor.

Political Career:

In 1964, at age 13, Rajnath Singh joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and remained active. By 1972, at 21, he became Branch Organizing Secretary in Mirzapur. In 1974, he entered politics.

From 1969 to 1971, he served as Organizational Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Gorakhpur. In 1972, he became Mahasachiv for the RSS Mirzapur branch.

In 1974, Singh became Secretary of the Mirzapur unit of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the precursor to the BJP.

In 1975, at 24, he was District President of the Jana Sangh. In 1977, he was elected MLA from Mirzapur. Aligned with the JP Movement during the National Emergency, he faced arrest but was re-elected upon release.

Joining the BJP in 1980, Singh held key roles, becoming National President in 2005. He was also elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council.

Education Minister:

when the Bharatiya Janata Party formed its first government In 1991, in Uttar Pradesh, Rajnath Singh was appointed as the Education Minister. He served in this capacity for a tenure of two years.

Chief Ministership:

In 2000, Rajnath Singh became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Haidargarh in 2001 and 2002. His appointment as Chief Minister was due to his long-standing influence from his active involvement in the JP Movement during the 1970s. Despite being well-regarded at the grassroots level and having served as the Education Minister in Kalyan Singh’s cabinet, his tenure was short-lived, as Mayawati later assumed the role of Chief Minister.

In April 1994, Rajnath Singh secured a seat in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament. During his tenure, he actively participated in committees such as the Consultative Committee for Industry (1994-96), the Advisory Committee for the Ministry of Agriculture, the Business Advisory Committee, the House Committee, and the Committee for Human Resource Development.

Taking on a leadership role, he assumed the presidency of the BJP unit in Uttar Pradesh on March 25, 1997. Subsequently, in 1999, he was appointed as the Union Cabinet Minister for Surface Transport.

Home Minister Of India:
