Henry’s mental health deteriorated significantly in the 1450s, leading to his temporary incapacity. His wife Margaret of Anjou  played a dominant role in his governance during these periods.

Deposed in 1461 by Edward IV of the House of York he briefly regained the throne in 1470 before being captured and likely murdered in the Tower of London in 1471.
