John Forbes Kerry was born on 11 December 1943 in Aurora, Colorado, USA. He is the second child of Richard Kerry who was a U.S. diplomat and her mother Rosemary Forbes she was a member of the wealthy Forbes family.

Kerry attended St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire. He went on to study political science at Yale University. where he graduated in 1966. During his time at Yale Kerry was an active member of the Yale Political Union and served as president of the debating society.
